Basketball is still the number one sport here in the Philippines and still my favorite sport. As of now, almost all of the countries in the world has an existing league in basketball.

Quezon Red Oilers (nakatalikod)

The most famous is the National Basketball Assocoation in United States of America. Here in the Philippines, Philippine Basketball Association was known most. But a year ago, as I were watching TV, I accidentally switched the channel. When I looked into the television, a basketball game was covered. I don’t know the players but when I spotted the scoreboard, I saw the Quezon Red Oilers playing in Liga Pilipinas.I was shocked because I thought that PBA is the only national league in the Philippines.

Liga Pilipinas is abasketball league in the Philippines and sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas. The National Basketball Conference and the Mindanao Visayas Basketball Association, along with Third Force Inc., were merged to officially form the league.

Quezon Red Oilers is a local team of Province of Quezon owned by ex-Governor Rafael P. Nantes and its coach Oliver Bunyi. Red Oilers former name is Quezon Villa Anita, sponsored by the Villa Anita Resort, during the National BasketBall Conference. Before they compete to the Liga Pilipinas

Conference One, they fly to Brunei to participate in the Brunei Cup against the teams in other countries like South Korea, Australia, Singapore, Jordan and a second Philippine team.
